Description

In this hands-on course, teens explore how digital design and traditional glassblowing intersect by creating their own forms using 3D scanning, modeling, and 3D printing. Students transform their digital designs into functional molds and then bring them to life during an offsite hot shop experience where molten glass is blown into their molds. Along the way, participants learn the fundamentals of digital fabrication, mold-making, and glass processes while working through a professional creative workflow. By the end of the course, each student completes a finished mold-blown glass piece along with documentation suitable for a creative portfolio.
