Class Days: Mondays and Wednesdays

Class Start Time: 9 AM

Class End Time: 2 PM

Classes begin: Monday, August 25, 2025

Middle Grades All Day Class will follow the following schedule:


9:00 AM- 10:30 AM- ELA: This course is designed to equip students with the tools and confidence to become effective writers. Using the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) and Fix It! Grammar as the curriculum, students will learn to structure and style their writing with clarity and precision. Through a variety of writing exercises and projects, students will develop their ability to write persuasively, narratively, and expository. The course emphasizes the importance of strong vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure while fostering a love of language and expression. Students will learn to become critical readers and thinkers, as well as skilled writers.

 

Key learning objectives include:

  • Mastering the writing process, from brainstorming to editing
  • Developing a strong command of grammar and mechanics
  • Building a robust vocabulary
  • Writing effectively in various genres (narrative, persuasive, expository)
  • Becoming confident in sharing written work with peers

 

Parents will need to purchase IEW Structure and Style for Students: Year 2 or Year 3 Level B with Fix It Grammar, Robin Hood Level 4


10:45 AM - 12 Noon- Math Lab: Get personalized math help! This class offers individualized support, targeted practice, and opportunities to explore math concepts at your own pace. Perfect for catching up or getting ahead.

 

We support and coach on the math curriculum that the parents/family have selected for the student. Can assist with math up to and including geometry.


12:45 PM - 2:00 PM- Physical Science - This class introduces students to the fundamental concepts of matter, energy, and their interactions. Students will explore the properties of matter, forces and motion, waves, tech transfer, and engineering. Through hands-on

experiments and investigations, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving,

and scientific inquiry skills. The course aligns with California State Standards

for Physical Science and prepares students for further studies in science.


Course Goals:

· Develop a strong foundation in chemical principles and concepts.

· Master essential laboratory techniques and safety procedures.

· Apply mathematical skills to solve science problems.

· Communicate scientific information effectively through written and oral

presentations.

· Explore the connections between physical chemistry and other disciplines.


This course will use a combination of living books, an online electronic textbook, CK12, and science labs. Curriculum included.


Physical Science Important Information:

  • Parents will not need to purchase any curriculum, CK-12 Digital Textbook Included via Google Classroom
  • Students will need a notebook and a folder/binder
  • Students will be assigned reading homework and writing assignments
  • Work will be graded
  • A detailed syllabus will be emailed within one week after the non-refundable deposit is paid
  • Students will need a Gmail account or access to Gmail to access our Google Classroom


Registration Fee: $25 Non-Refundable Registration Fee is required to hold your student's spot. The registration fee is subtracted from the total cost of the class.

 

Paying with Charter Funds? A Purchase Order or Enrichment Certificate must be received within 5 business days before the start of class. If Charter Funds are not available to you yet, you have the option of waiting until your funds are available to register or paying the registration fee out of pocket. Some Charter Schools do not pay registration/material fees, so please check with your Charter School's policy.
