This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts of

matter, energy, and their interactions. Students will explore the properties of matter,

forces and motion, waves, tech transfer, and engineering. Through hands-on

experiments and investigations, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving,

and scientific inquiry skills. The course aligns with California State Standards

for Physical Science and prepares students for further studies in science.

Course Goals:

 Develop a strong foundation in chemical principles and concepts.

 Master essential laboratory techniques and safety procedures.

 Apply mathematical skills to solve science problems.

 Communicate scientific information effectively through written and oral

presentations.

 Explore the connections between physical chemistry and other disciplines.

This course will use a combination of living books, the CK-12 online textbook, and science labs. Curriculum included.
