Description

9th-12th graders! Receive accurate and age-appropriate information about sexual health with an emphasis on consent, communication and healthy boundaries. 

This class is designed by a medical professional to empower mentees to make informed, respectful, and safe decisions about their bodies, relationships, and health. The course emphasizes consent, communication, personal responsibility, and healthy boundaries.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child has the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive Sexual Health Education course at Son of a Saint with Leon Sanders III, MD. This course is designed to provide mentees with age-appropriate, medically accurate, inclusive, and evidence-based information to help them make safe and informed decisions about their health and relationships. 

Course Title: Adolescent Sexual Health Education

Topics to be Covered:

1. Overview of Sexual Health and Anatomy
2. Puberty and Body Changes
3. Gender, Sexuality, and Identity
4. Consent and Communication 
5. Safe Sexual Practices
6. Pregnancy
7. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
8. Condom Use and Banana Demonstration
9. Sexual Abuse, Power Dynamics, and Coercion
10. Digital Safety and Sexting
11. Safe and Healthy Relationships

Teaching Approach:

The curriculum emphasizes respect, inclusivity, consent, and personal responsibility. It uses interactive activities and medically accurate models to engage students. All materials and demonstrations (e.g., condom demonstration using a banana) are handled with professionalism and sensitivity.

Purpose of the Course:

• To equip students with knowledge and skills for maintaining sexual health.
• To foster respectful and safe communication in relationships.
• To prevent STIs, unplanned pregnancies, and unsafe or exploitative situations.
• To promote digital safety and appropriate online behavior.
