" Monday Beyond The Classroom
The ELOP at Taawila Elementary provides enriching, engaging, and academically supportive learning experiences beyond the regular school day. This program is designed to promote the social, emotional, and academic development of students through a variety of structured activities, including arts, STEM, physical activity, and academic support.
In alignment with California Education Code, legal priority for enrollment is given to students who meet specific criteria, including foster youth, students experiencing homelessness, and English learners. While these students are prioritized for participation, we are committed to expanding access and strive to welcome as many students as possible, based on available space and staffing.
At Taawila, we believe in inclusive, supportive programming that benefits our entire school community. Our goal is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and engaging environment.
Please note: For student safety and to minimize disruption to programming, our dedicated daily pick-up windows are strictly observed at 3:50–4:00 p.m. and 4:50–5:00 p.m.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students may also be picked up at their regular school dismissal time of 2:20 p.m. (12:40 p.m. on Wednesdays).

Description
New for 2025: Students will NOT select individual courses and instead will engage in more structured activities throughout the week on a rotating basis.
Our K–5th grade after-school class is a free and fun learning opportunity open to all students, with priority access given to students who qualify for ELOP (Expanded Learning Opportunities Program). We follow a strict 1:20 ratio for 1st-5th grade students and a 1:10 ratio for TK/K.
Students will enjoy a safe, supportive environment with activities that support learning, creativity, and social development.
Pick-up/Release Times:
- First extended pick-up window: 3:50–4:00 PM
- Final pick-up window: 4:50–5:00 PM
To help with smooth transitions, we ask families to pick up during one of the listed time slots.
