Description

The 2022 Blue House Summer Film Camp will focus on the language of mental health in second generation immigrant youth of color. (i.e. you or your parents are immigrants)


About

The camp will be held from June 27th 2022- July 9th 2022 with NO CLASS on Sunday July 3rd and Monday July 4th. The classes is for ages 16-20.


The students will creatively produce a short documentary film that will be shown in the last weekend of July at the culmination of multicultural week at The Felege Hiywot Center.


During the camp students will have a chance to hear from local industry professionals who are also of immigrant backgrounds.


  • Students will learn about the filmmaking process from filmmaking to the red carpet
  • Students will get to learn in a diverse environment
  • Students will get to learn from an award winning filmmaker and actress

Looking for a summer job AND want to do the film camp?

Interested students can also become camp counselors at The Felege Hiywot Center (an urban farm that teaches leadership skill through STEM education) for 8 weeks and 2 of the weeks you would spend your time in the film camp (paid). Please indicate that you are interested in applying for the summer camp counselor position on your application for the film camp.
