Description
Get ready to design, build, and race the future! 🚀
In this hands-on, five-day mechatronics camp, campers become engineers as they work in teams to build their very own solar-powered electric go-karts from the ground up.
Campers will explore the exciting world where mechanics, electronics, and programming come together. They’ll learn how solar energy is converted into electric power, wire motors and controllers, assemble steering and braking systems, and fine-tune their designs for speed and efficiency. Along the way, they’ll experiment, troubleshoot, and think like real engineers—because not every great invention works the first time perfectly!
Each day blends creativity with problem-solving as campers sketch designs, test components, and iterate on their builds. The week culminates in a thrilling solar go-kart showcase, where teams test their creations and celebrate their engineering achievements.
By the end of camp, participants will have:
- Built and powered a working solar electric go-kart
- Gained hands-on experience with mechatronics and renewable energy
- Strengthened teamwork, critical thinking, and design skills
- Discovered how engineering can drive a more sustainable future

CDL’s Mechatronics Camp is more than just learning about engineering—campers will build and drive it! In just 5 days, campers work together to create fully functional solar-powered electric go-carts while exploring mechatronics, renewable energy, and real-world tech skills.
