ALA MAI Volunteer Registration
Hello, Thank you for your interest in joining our Ala Mai team for the 2025–2026 school year! As we prepare for this year’s competition season, we are requiring all volunteers to complete an online registration form. Ala Mai is more than a program—it is a space for cultural awakening. Through Ala Mai, students build a sense of belonging and connection to a supportive village, exploring who they are as Pacific Islander youth through cultural lessons. This year, we are focusing on intentional learning through language, music, and movement, helping students understand how Siva Samoa connects to history and storytelling, while building leadership, teamwork, and confidence. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a leadership retreat and workshops designed to foster trust, empowerment, accountability, and leadership skills. Our team will focus on developing:
- Setlist for La’u Samoa
- Practice schedules
- Curriculum building
- Fundraising planning and execution
- Communication with families and youth
- Trauma-informed care knowledge and training
- Mental Health First Aid
- Fingerprint background checks with PSED
- Dance and song practice
All volunteers are required by UTOPIA Washington to complete trainings required by our school partners. This ensures the safety of our youth and maintains a strong, supportive environment for everyone. We are excited to welcome you to our team and look forward to a meaningful and transformative year together!
