Description
You have the opportunity to help tutor phonics to children in Pre-K through 3rd grade in small-group settings. Volunteers will assist an experienced teacher or work with individual children on letter sounds and literacy activities, such as flashcards, coloring, reading, sounding out letters, or playing literacy-focused games. The literacy program is in a community center in West Harlem. We will provide all the materials. At lunchtime, there will be time for fellowship between the teacher and students as they eat.
