Description
- YouthPlaces after-school programming brings its Hobbies 2 Opportunities (H2O) approach to the youth in our community! YP's model is designed to build the social and emotional learning of young people no matter their background or circumstances to prepare them for adulthood. YP offers a variety of both enrollment and drop-in based programs based on the youth's interest and/or hobbies that are connected to one of our service areas which include:
- YP Plays: Physical wellness programs and activities, which includes an intramural sports schedule, competitive Esports teams, and structured recreation.
- YP Learns: Academic enrichment programs and activities promoting education and motivating our students to learn. Includes homework support, tutoring, and project based learning.
- YP Futures: College and Career preparation aligning high school participants with higher education opportunities. Includes informative workshops, college and career campus visits, an annual college fair, and college tour.
- YP Leads: Leadership and advisory council opportunities developing the necessary soft and hard skills that lead to transitioning into a positive and productive citizen in our communities.
- YP Makers: Creative arts and expression opportunities supporting our youth's entrepreneurial goals. Includes makers spaces, music studio, and podcast offerings.
- YP Tech: Digital literacy and technology based programming to support the current regional education systems, exposing youth to careers in the tech industry.
