2026 Detroit Police Law Enforcement Explorers Camp Academy
Dates: Sunday, July 5, 2026 through Friday, July 10, 2026
Location: Howell, Michigan
The 2026 Detroit Police Law Enforcement Explorers Camp Academy is a dynamic and immersive experience designed for youth ages 10 to 18 who have an interest in law enforcement, leadership, public safety, and community service.
Held in Howell, Michigan, this week-long academy provides Explorers with hands-on training while developing teamwork, discipline, leadership skills, confidence, and career readiness. The program is a peer-to-peer educational initiative overseen by Detroit Police officers, creating a structured and supportive learning environment.

- Traffic Felony Stops
- Domestic Violence Intervention
- Crime Prevention
- Arrest and Search Techniques
- Drill and Ceremony
- First Aid and Stop the Bleed
- Mobile Field Force Operations
Physical Agility:
Daily physical training sessions help Explorers build endurance, strength, discipline, and mental resilience. Participants are encouraged to prepare in advance with push-ups, sit-ups, running, and other exercises.
Learning and Fun:
The academy combines education, leadership development, teamwork, and engaging activities to provide an exciting and rewarding experience for all participants.
Uniform Deposit Fee:
A $35 uniform deposit fee is required for each participating student. This fee helps ensure all Explorers are properly equipped for academy activities.
Transportation:
Students will be transported by bus to and from Howell, Michigan, providing safe and convenient travel for all participants.
