Current Class Project:

The Lay of the Land

"The Lay of the Land" starts on October 22nd through November 19th.

In this chapter, students learn about the wildlife, flora, and fauna that inhabit the North American Landscape. Beginning with simple line drawings and color pencil drawings of botanical illustrations and birds, students will learn about their connection to the land in which they inhabit, as well as artists whose practice communicate these concepts, from Dutch still life painters to contemporary artists such as Mark Dion. We'll learn about color theory (analogous and complementary colors) and use these principals to learn to make colored drawings of plant and wildlife!
