The sponsoring groups of Cristo Rey Network schools ensure that the institutions are Catholic in identity and mission, true to the religious charism of the order, and appropriately governed. The communities have the obligation of developing a local culture that is faithful to the guiding principles of the Cristo Rey spirituality and the Cristo Rey Network Mission Effectiveness Standards.

Providence Cristo Rey High School is sponsored by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, a congregation of Roman Catholic women religious who minister throughout the United States, Taiwan, and China. Founded by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin in 1840, the congregation has a mission of being God’s Providence in the world by committing to performing works of love, mercy, and justice in service among God’s people. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE SISTERS OF PROVIDENCE.
