Specific details of our many opportunities will be discussed with you - because we want to match your passion with purpose.

Required Clearances and Training

We’re so grateful for our amazing volunteers. Your heart for the next generation and our community makes all the difference!

At The Way, the safety and well-being of our children and youth is our top priority. If you’re interested in serving with any of our children's or youth programs, you must complete the following free volunteer clearances:

FBI Clearances CODE: 1KG6ZJ

For Volunteers in School-Based Programs:

If you are participating in "The Way to Reading " or any programs held within our local public schools, an FBI Clearance is required, regardless of residency.

Please note: This clearance is not free. If you need help covering the cost, contact Dawn Mankey, our Director of Programming at (724) 833-1355 or email Sue Peirce, our Treasurer at administrator@thewaygc.org. We are happy to help with reimbursement when needed. If you’re able to cover the cost yourself, it is a wonderful blessing to the organization and is deeply appreciated.

Training is provided for our non-administrative volunteers.

Together, we are building a valued, equipped, and more connected community. Thank you for being a part of it!
