Alpha’s Brownsville campus offers an educational experience designed to inspire and motivate kids to be limitless. At Alpha, we believe that students who love school work harder, step outside their comfort zones, connect with peers, and take ownership of their learning and future.

STEMtree Coding

In this class, students will embrace challenges by acquiring coding skills in two sessions and applying them in the third. This process helps students persevere through problem-solving and learn from mistakes. By the end of the session, they will showcase their coding projects at the fall festival, demonstrating resilience and technical skills.

Crocheting/Knitting

This workshop teaches students step-by-step techniques in crocheting and knitting. Through patience and repetition, they will improve their craft each week. By the end of the session, students will complete a handmade item, reflecting growth in both skill and perseverance.

Soccer

Students will develop soccer skills by learning moves and positions, then applying them in games on an inflatable soccer field. Through practice and collaboration, they’ll strengthen teamwork, resilience, and their understanding of the game. By session’s end, students will confidently apply their skills in fun, competitive matches.

Spanish Baking & Cooking

This class combines language learning with culinary skills. Each week, students will expand their Spanish vocabulary while baking or cooking a new recipe. By the end of the session, they’ll be able to replicate a favorite recipe, explaining the ingredients and steps in Spanish, showcasing growth in both language and culinary arts.

Fencing

Students will learn fencing moves and points, focusing on precision and strategy. They will develop grit as they practice and refine techniques. By the end of the session, they’ll be ready to compete in a full fencing match, highlighting their mastery of the sport.

Reybotics Robotics & VR

This hands-on class invites students to build robots and explore virtual reality, tackling complex challenges like navigating mazes. Through trial and error, students will enhance creativity and problem-solving skills. By the end of the session, they will confidently demonstrate their robots’ abilities to complete tasks.

Basketball

Students will learn basketball positions and moves, emphasizing teamwork and grit. They will grow through consistent practice and apply their skills in games on the inflatable court. By session’s end, students will work in teams, competing in fun, interactive matches.

DJ Mixing & Choir

Students will explore DJ music mixing by operating a mix board, experimenting with melodies, and refining their work through creativity and practice. They will also develop vocal skills by learning musical notes, pitch, and how to read music. By the end of the session, they’ll perform live at the fall festival, showcasing both musical creativity and discipline.

Chess

As members of the Alpha chess team, students will sharpen their strategic thinking skills, learning the value of resilience in competition. They will practice calculated moves and learn from defeats. By the end of the session, students will be prepared to compete in local chess competitions, confident in their critical thinking.
