About

Apex is dedicated to empowering youth through hands-on skill building and outdoor adventure by fostering meaningful mentorships and creating an environment where every child feels safe, accepted, and valued.

Apex Youth Connection, formerly known as the Community Bicycle Center, is a non-profit organization that provides after-school and summer programs for youth across York County. Our programs are centered around the Apex Bike Factory, a fully operational bike shop where young participants learn essential skills such as bicycle mechanics, repair, maintenance, tool usage, and problem-solving. These activities and programs are available to youth from 5th through 12th grade.

At Apex, we take pride in offering a safe, reliable space where youth can engage, develop new skills, and foster meaningful community connections. Our dedicated and experienced staff closely supervise participants as they work, play, and interact with friends. We welcome all youth from 5th to 12th grade, regardless of residency, and most of our programs are offered at little to no cost. Additionally, Apex runs the Earn a Bike program, which provides participants with a fully functional bicycle for a nominal fee of $5.00. Through this program, youth can choose a donated bike from our extensive collection, repair it with guidance from our Apex Bike Mechanics, and take it home for just $5.00.

All programs are fully sponsored by the generosity of our donors, with school day programs through contracts with schools.
